Janet is a Credentialled Diabetes Educator practicing at Southern Regional Medical Group, with specialised diabetes knowledge and skills in the delivery of diabetes care and diabetes self-management education.

Adopting a client centred approach Janet empowers the person to develop self-responsibility, motivation and self-esteem, provides interdisciplinary and clinical care, promoting optimal health.

Janet graduated as a Registered Nurse at Chester University in the UK before moving to Albany in 2008 with her husband and two children. Janet started her Albany career at the Albany Health Campus, then joined our team as a Clinical Nurse in 2010. She then completed a post-graduate certificate at Curtin University in 2017 in Diabetes Education and has since Credentialled. In Janet’s spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exercising and enjoying good food and wine.

Janet specialises in all facets of diabetes care, including; Pre-diabetes, Type 1 & 2 Diabetes, Gestational Diabetes and other. Janet is happy to receive referrals to see clients through a GP Management plan referral or a private referral (some private health insurance providers cover diabetes care).
