Dr Suzanne Ahern

Suzanne is a one of our new GP registrars! She has been lured to Albany by the beautiful landscapes and country life after attending Rural Clinical School in Carnarvon in 2018 and a short placement at Albany hospital in 2020 as an intern. This is where she found a spark in rural medicine that has led her away from Perth where she grew up.

Suzanne completed her medical degree at University of Western Australia in 2019 and undertook her early training at Fiona Stanley and Rockingham Hospital. She has spent the last 2 years at King Edward Memorial Hospital and Osborne Park hospital completing additional focussed training in Women’s health, pregnancy and labour care. As such she has completed her diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and is working towards her advanced diploma to include caesarean section care.

When not working Suzanne spends her time enjoying good food with her husband and baking up a storm. To relax, Suzanne likes to read a good book or do a puzzle, particularly on a cold day.

Suzanne’s special interests include:

  • Women’s Health
  • Pregnancy care
