Tameka is a WA local who grew up in the South West town of Donnybrook before moving to Perth to study medicine. She has always been interested in a rural career and did university placements in Port Hedland with the Rural Clinical School, Dalyellup through RAMUS, and Moruya on the New South Wales south coast, through the John Flynn Placement Program. She graduated in 2016 from the University of Western Australia and spent time as a junior doctor working at the Albany Health Campus and Bunbury Regional Hospital where she undertook extended skills training in paediatrics.  She has an interest in paediatric medicine, mental health and women’s health.

 

Outside of work Tameka is a keen horse rider and regularly participates in local dressage competitions.
